On 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟓, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, the 𝑳𝒐𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝑮𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝑻𝒖𝒃𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒏 conducted a coordination meeting at the 3rd Floor Conference Hall with department heads, uniformed personnel, and partner agencies to strengthen 𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞 𝐦𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐩𝐨𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐥 𝐍𝐢ñ𝐨.

The meeting, together with 𝑬𝒏𝒈𝒓. 𝑹𝒊𝒄𝒉𝒂𝒓𝒅 𝑯𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒛, 𝑴𝑫𝑹𝑹𝑴𝑶, and Municipal Agriculturist 𝑺𝒊𝒓 𝑲𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝑴𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒍 𝑪𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒃𝒊𝒔, focused on key concerns such as water conservation, agricultural protection, extreme heat, drought, and grassfire prevention and response.

𝑹𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒅 𝒕𝒐:

• Avoid indiscriminate burning of garbage, grass, and agricultural waste, especially during prolonged dry conditions;

• Immediately report grassfires and other fire incidents to the proper authorities;

• Keep surroundings free from dry and highly combustible materials;

• Conserve water and prioritize its use for essential household needs; and

• Store water safely whenever possible for emergency use.

Through proactive planning and strengthened coordination, the LGU Tuburan continues to work toward a 𝒔𝒂𝒇𝒆𝒓, 𝒎𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒏𝒕, and 𝒃𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆𝒓-𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒑𝒂𝒓𝒆𝒅 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒚.

𝐓𝐔𝐁𝐔𝐑𝐀𝐍, 𝐂𝐄𝐁𝐔 — 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟑𝟎, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔, The 2nd Batch of the 𝑺𝒖𝒔𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝑳𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝑴𝒂𝒏𝒂𝒈𝒆𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 (𝑺𝑳𝑴) 𝑪𝒐𝒓𝒏 𝑭𝒂𝒓𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒔’ 𝑭𝒊𝒆𝒍𝒅 𝑫𝒂𝒚 was successfully held in Barangay Kansi, bringing together farmers, agricultural experts, and community leaders to promote sustainable farming practices.

The activity featured a field tour, farmer testimonies, and an open forum, with support from the 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞–𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐅𝐢𝐞𝐥𝐝 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝟕 (𝐃𝐀-𝐑𝐅𝐎 𝟕), 𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐮 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐨𝐢𝐥𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐖𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 (𝐁𝐒𝐖𝐌), 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦, 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭 (𝐎𝐏𝐀), and other local agriculture stakeholders. The initiative reflects the continued commitment of the LGU of Tuburan, under the leadership of 𝑴𝒂𝒚𝒐𝒓 𝑪𝒉𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝑫𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒆𝒍 “𝑪𝑫” 𝑫𝒊𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒆, to strengthen sustainable agriculture and empower local farmers toward a more resilient and prosperous farming community.

TUBURAN, CEBU | September 22, 2026 — The Municipality of Tuburan hosted the Galing Pook Foundation National Validation Team today at the Sangguniang Bayan Session Hall for the validation of “Kape at Iba Pa: Sustainable Agri-Ecological Development,” the municipality’s entry to the Galing Pook Awards.

The validation examined the program’s implementation, key accomplishments, innovations, sustainability, and impact, particularly its contribution to coffee production, farmer development, and sustainable agriculture in Tuburan.

Out of 208 entries received nationwide, only 37 programs advanced to the semi-finalist stage—and Tuburan’s “Kape at Iba Pa” is among those selected to undergo the national validation process.

The validation team was composed of Dr. Jose Rene Gayo, Executive Director of the Agro-Industrial Technology and Enterprise Center in Bacolod City; Ms. Vicky Armilla, Member of the Board of Trustees of the Galing Pook Foundation; and Ms. Edith Ramos, Finance and Administrative Officer of the Galing Pook Foundation.

Leading the municipal presentation was Municipal Mayor Hon. Christian Daniel B. Diamante, together with Municipal Consultant on Internal and External Affairs Mr. Democrito “Aljun” Diamante and the municipal department heads. The team presented the program’s development, major initiatives, and continuing outcomes for the local farming community.

The activity forms part of the Galing Pook national validation process, through which the program’s practices and results are documented and assessed by the national validation team.

𝐍𝐀𝐍𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆, 𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐍𝐀 | 𝑺𝒆𝒑𝒕𝒆𝒎𝒃𝒆𝒓 18, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 — The Municipality of Tuburan continued its participation in the 𝑪𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒂–𝑨𝑺𝑬𝑨𝑵 𝑬𝒙𝒑𝒐 (𝑪𝑨𝑬𝑿𝑷𝑶) 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 in Nanning, China, showcasing one of its local products, Tuburan Coffee, as part of the Philippine delegation and the Province of Cebu.

The showcase of Tuburan Coffee provides an opportunity to introduce a homegrown product to an international audience while highlighting Tuburan’s local enterprise and agricultural potential.

The 𝑩𝒂𝒓𝒂𝒏𝒈𝒂𝒚 𝑨𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒑𝒐𝒍𝒐 𝑼𝒏𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝑭𝒂𝒓𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝑨𝒔𝒔𝒐𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 (𝑩𝑨𝑼𝑭𝑨) harvested its first batch of organically grown cucumbers today under the 𝐋𝐆𝐔-𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦 𝐨𝐧 𝐎𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐜 𝐕𝐞𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧.

Implemented by the 𝑴𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒑𝒂𝒍 𝑨𝒈𝒓𝒊𝒄𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆 𝑶𝒇𝒇𝒊𝒄𝒆 (𝑴𝑨𝑶), headed by 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐊𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐛𝐢𝐬, the program promotes sustainable farming practices and strengthens local farmers’ capacity for organic vegetable production.

The initiative forms part of the Municipality of Tuburan’s continuing support for local farmers and efforts to strengthen food production and food security under the leadership of 𝑴𝒖𝒏𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒑𝒂𝒍 𝑴𝒂𝒚𝒐𝒓 𝑯𝒐𝒏. 𝑪𝒉𝒓𝒊𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒂𝒏 𝑫𝒂𝒏𝒊𝒆𝒍 𝑫𝒊𝒂𝒎𝒂𝒏𝒕𝒆.
