1st Tuburan Battle of the Bands

en (10) bands from the different parts of the Province of Cebu rocked Tuburan last June 1, 2012. The competition was open to all amateur bands. It was a jam-packed evening despite the threats brought about by the weather conditions due to the low pressure that was about to hit the province on that very day. Originally planned at the Tuburan Boulevard, the event was finally held at the Tuburan Covered Court. Notwithstanding the inclement weather, Tuburan, for the first time, witnessed and enjoyed a night with non-stop rock music from the Battle of the Bands. A week before the big night, a total of 20 bands auditioned, hoping to take away the title as the Champion of the 1st Tuburan Boulevard Battle of the Bands. However, only 10 bands made it. After the competition, all the bands went home happy and contented. The winning bands received P15, 000.00 for the Champion; P10, 000.00 for the 1st runner-up and P5, 000 for the second runner up, plus a trophy each. While the non-winning bands were given a consolation prize of P2, 000.00 each and additional transportation allowance for the outside town participants, courtesy from Hon. Democrito Diamante. On top of the cash prize, Mayor Aljun gave cash in the amount of Five Thousand Pesos (P 5,000.00) to the first three winners.
