On April 25, 2024, the Municipality of Tuburan achieved yet another significant milestone. We were honored to be selected by the Tourism Council of the Municipality of Taft, Eastern Samar, as a benchmark for the development of their Local Tourism Plan. They sought to infuse their strategy with the core values and principles upheld by Tuburan’s Local Government Unit.
During their visit, they explored iconic destinations such as the Blue Hole, Tuburan 360 Views and Restaurant, and Tuburan Coffee Farm. This immersive experience provided them with valuable insights that will undoubtedly benefit their own municipality and its residents.
Tuburan has always been dedicated to enhancing the well-being of its people, and the opportunity to share our successful strategies with neighbouring municipalities fills us with a profound sense of accomplishment.

In a remarkable turn of events, Tuburan Coffee, a humble product from the heart of the Philippines, has captured the attention and admiration of the Canadian community, marking a historic milestone in its journey towards global recognition. Led by Mayor Aljun Diamante, alongside his esteemed wife, Lady Diamond Madam Tess Diamante, and daughter Jamaica Diamante, the Tuburan delegation embarked on a momentous journey to the Cebuano Filipino Community in Vancouver, Canada, on April 27th during the 1st Lapulapu Day Celebration. Little did they anticipate the overwhelming reception their product would receive on foreign soil.
To their astonishment, Tuburan Coffee was not only embraced by the Canadian people but was also honored with an unprecedented opportunity – to be showcased within the esteemed halls of the Canadian Parliament, alongside distinguished dignitaries from British Columbia, Canada. This landmark event marks the first time a Filipino product has been acknowledged within the Parliament building itself, a testament to the quality and authenticity of Tuburan Coffee.
The visionary leadership of Mayor Aljun Diamante in organic agriculture, dating back to the inception of Tuburan Coffee in 2012, has now garnered international acclaim. His unwavering dedication to putting Tuburan on the world map has proven fruitful, as Tuburan Coffee shines as a beacon of Filipino excellence on the global stage.This momentous achievement not only brings pride to Tuburan Coffee and its community but also serves as a symbol of the Philippines’ rich cultural heritage and entrepreneurial spirit.
We want to send our sincere appreciation to Ms Mable Elmore for the assistance she made for us. She is the first Filipino-Canadian who was elected on 2009 and still serving as a Member of the Legislative Assembly of Canada and her mother comes from Tuburan, Cebu. Commending also the Cebuano Filipino Community in Canada thru Mr. Anthony Ponyonng Ortega.
Through Mayor Aljun Diamante’s leadership embodies a purpose-driven approach, with a singular focus on elevating Tuburan and its treasures internationally. As Tuburan Coffee continues to make waves globally, it serves as a testament to the potential and promise of Filipino ingenuity and craftsmanship.

Siglakas 2024 Opening Ceremony
SIGLAKAS, derived from the root word “sigla” at “lakas,” the most-awaited sports competition every year, fosters a sense of identity and nurtures future generations of well-rounded and responsible sports champions.
Tuburanons, SIGLAKAS 2024, has finally opened today, April 27, 2024. The opening commenced with the parade and representation of athletes and/or prides of the different barangays in the municipality. Dressed in their corresponding colors, they wave flags and banners, representing the spirit of sportsmanship and the celebration of skills, abilities, and God-given talents.

Nagkada-iyang serbisyong pang-gobyerno ug pang-medikal ang gidala sa atong LGU alang sa mga residente sa maong barangay ug kini mainiton nga gidangop sa mga katawhan.
Kini usa sa mga panata sa atong mapinanggaon nga amahan sa lungsod, Hon. Democrito Diamante, inubanan sa atong bise-mayor nga si Hon. Danilo Diamante ug sa mga konsehales sa lungsod nga makabenepisyo ang mga Tuburanon sa mas sayon nga mga pamaagi.

Municipality of Bantayan | Benchmarking
On April 19, 2024, Municipality of Tuburan achieved another significant milestone when it was selected by Municipality of Bantayan as a benchmark for high-value crops, value-adding processors, and organic farming practices.
Various locations within our municipality that specialize in organic farming and food processing welcomed our visitors. These included LAMAC in Brgy. Colonia, BELA in Brgy. Poblacion 8 (a sustainable livelihood program that processes squash into crackers and binangkal), and Tuburan Coffee Farm in Brgy. Kabangkalan.
Our guests from Bantayan Municipality also had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the excitement and natural beauty of our rivers and mountains while exploring Tuburan with ATVs on the Tuburan 360 tour.
Tuburanons take immense pride in hosting such an activity and eagerly anticipate seeing how our guests will apply the knowledge gained from our municipality in Bantayan.

Laing adlaw na pud nga Martes ang niabot kaniadtong Abril 16, 2024, ug laing kahigayunan na usab nga makahatod ug serbisyo alang sa mga Tuburanon pinaagi sa atong naandan nga Outreach program sa atong Lungsod sa Tuburan.
Atong gidala sa Brgy. Montealegre ang atong mga serbisyong pang gobyerno, medical, ug uban pa nga pagpangalagad gikan sa mga nagka-lain laing departamento sa LGU alang sa atong mga ka-igsuonan.

Niadtong April 2, 2024, adlawng Martes, ato napud nga gipahigayon ang atong naandan nga OUTREACH PROGRAM. Niadtong adlawa, gibuhat kini sa Brgy. Kamansi Tuburan Cebu inubanan mga nagkalaing laing departamento sa atong Local Government Unit.
Suspension of Face-to-Face Classes
Due to extreme heat and forecasted high heat index by PAGASA, Face-to-face classes in Elementary & Secondary levels both in Public and Private schools in the Municipality of Tuburan, Cebu will be cancelled from April 4 to April 5, 2024 and encouraged to adopt Alternative Learning Modalities for their students.
The decision regarding the suspension of classes at the tertiary level is left to the discretion of university administrator. This decision is made to prioritize the safety of our students and educators.
Please ensure to stay cool, hydrated, and take necessary precautions.

Orientation on Agri-Eco Tourism Program
It is the intent of LGU Tuburan to combine the aspects of sustainable development in the fields of agriculture, environmental protection, and resiliency in the local tourism industry through the AGRI-ECO TOURISM PROGRAM.
On March 26, 2024, an orientation was conducted at Tuburan Covered Court, attended by the barangay captains and purok leaders of the 54 barangays in the municipality.
With the leadership of our municipal mayor, Hon. Aljun Diamante, coined with the collective effort of the Department of Agriculture, Solid Waste Management, and Tourism, introduced holistic solutions that benefit both the environment and the livelihoods of our people.
Influenced by the great vision of our mayor to become a 100 percent organic municipality, agri-eco tourism banners organic farming, hitting three birds with one stone, targeting the aspects of food security, prosperity, and sustainability of our community.
In addition, this program firmly believes that citizens’ participation is the cornerstone of having a sustainable community. That’s why this program calls for the active engagement of every Tuburanon, specifically the youths, to work hand in hand and strengthen their existing Purok.
In this way, Tuburan is not only cultivating organic food but also nurturing a brighter future for generations to come.

The Procession of Santo Entierro
As the dusk settles and the streets are veiled in a solemn hush, the Archdiocesan Shrine of San Antonio de Padua devotees of the Municipality of Tuburan awaken to the timeless tradition of the Procession of Santo Entierro. With each echoing footstep and flickering candle flame, we are drawn into a sacred journey of reflection and reverence.
The Procession of Santo Entierro is not merely a religious ritual; it is a profound expression of our communal faith, a testament to the enduring power of love and redemption. As we watch the paso, adorned by the local artisans of the Municipality of Tuburan with symbols of Christ’s passion and suffering, carried with reverence through the streets, we are reminded of the universal human experience of loss and promise of resurrection.
In this moment of reflection, we are invited to contemplate our own journeys of faith and resilience. Like the figures depicted on the paso, we carry our own burdens, our own crosses, yet we are buoyed by the promise of hope and renewal.

In the heart of this sacred time, the procession of the Pasos immerge and solemnly carried by devoted hands of the Tuburanons, each step is a testament to faith and devotion.
During the celebration of the Holy Week, the Archdiocesan Shrine of San Antonio de Padua and streets of Poblacion Barangays of the Municipality of Tuburan come alive with a solemn procession of “Pasos”, elaborate floats carrying depictions of the Passion of Christ. Each Paso is a masterpiece of craftsmanship, meticulously created by skilled local artisans, embodying centuries of tradition and devotion.
As we walk alongside these sacred processions, we are invited to reflect on our own journey of faith. We contemplate the meaning of sacrifice and the power of redemption, finding solace in the shared experience of this holy season.
In the midst of the hustle and bustle of modern life, Holy Week offers us a moment of stillness, a chance to pause and reflect on the ultimate sacrifice made for us all.
