National Independence Day

Philippine Independence Day is one of the biggest holidays in the country. It is one large celebratory event held across the country every 12th day of June. This year, Filipinos commemorated the 114th anniversary of our Independence.

June 12 is a day is intended for the commemoration of what transpired in the past. The celebration is a living reminder to every Filipino of the struggles and sacrifices our national heroes did in exchange of the liberty we are enjoying at present. And it is our duty to safeguard it at all times for future generations.

The Local Government Unit of Tuburan joined in the celebration of the Independence Day. A short yet symbolic program was held which included honoring of the national flag. Hon. Federico Montebon (SB Member) delivered the welcome address, while Hon. Democrito M. Diamante shared to everyone an inspirational message. Both Tribu Molobolo (Champion, Tubod Festival 2012; Best in Choreography) and Tribu Pawa (Best in Street Dancing) were asked a repeat performance of their ritual dances that made them earn their titles. After the program, followed a grand motorcade of the Matron Queen 2012 with her DUCHESSES and a long parade comprised mainly of the LGU Tuburan headed by the Municipal Mayor, DepEd (Tuburan I and Tuburan II), Tuburan District Hospital, Rural Health Workers, Tuburan Parish Community, Cebu Technological University, Tuburan National High School, Colonia National High School, Putat National High School, Montealegre National High School and Saint Anthony`s Academy.
