Outreach Program

An appropriate program to jumpstart the activities for Calendar Year, the LGU Tuburan Outreach Program, spearheaded by Mayor Democrito M. Diamante to demonstrate his sincere intent to extend assistance to a majority of his constituents in the municipality, aims to “bring LGU services closer to the people.”

Scheduled every Tuesday of the week starting January 2012, the program shall terminate on the last Tuesday of December 2012. Participating departments/organization consist of the Assessor’s Office, COMELEC, DA, DSWD, LCR, Mobile School, PhilHealth, RHU, Senior Citizens Office (OSCA), and the Office of the Municipal Treasury. Each department assigns personnel to perform the designated tasks.

Beneficiaries of the program comprise all the 54 barangays in the municipality, eight of which are located in the town proper. Services extended include: Issuance of copies/verification of Tax Declaration Number; information drive on the benefits of proper assessment of properties; prompt payment of taxes; Registration, Validation, Transfer of Residence; Reactivation of old voters, Significance of intelligent voting & Transparency in casting votes; Animal deworming; Role of DSWD in providing assistance to the less privileged sector in society, particularly the handicapped, the orphans, and the indigents, among others; Counseling and Facilitating issuance of Records of Birth and Marriages; assistance for Out-of-School Youth; RHU Medical Mission/services which constitute giving of free medicines and vitamins; Registration of Senior Citizen applicants to the Association; and Information on the benefits of taxation to the people and the community as a whole.

Its initial activity commenced at Brgy. Daan Lungsod on January 3, 2012. As of May 22, 2012, Twenty-two (22) barangays have been served, which include the barangays of Daan Lungsod, Apalan, Bagasawe, Putat, Kampoot, Macupa, Lusong, Kansi, Gimamaa, Mag-atubang, Amatugan, Mangga, Amatugan, Tomugpa, Mag-antoy, Marmol, Carmelo, Kamansi, Kaorasan, and Kan-an. These activities were well participated in by the respective departments involved and the respective barangay officials and beneficiaries. The absence of additional compensation never deterred the LGU personnel from giving their full support and assistance in extending humanitarian services to the people.

Mayor Aljun Diamante, whose presence is evident in all the outreach activities, expresses his gratitude to the people who, without reservations, have given their all-out support to the program.

On the whole, residents in the barangays served were very grateful for the services which LGU Tuburan, out of humanitarian consideration, brought to their very doorstep.
