Seminar on Magna Carta of Women and Gender-Responsive Laws for Brgy. Captains of Local Functionaries of LGU Tuburan

Held at the the Tuburan Central School Gabaldon Bldg., the seminar was attended by One Hundred Seventy participants which included the Barangay officials, namely the barangay Captains, Kagawads, Treasurers, and Secretaries.

Ms. Shirley Belleza, Consultant on Women & Devt., Cebu Province, gave the Orientation oon the Magna Carta of Women. Fiscal LLena Avila, Asst. Reg. Prosecutor & Reg. Implementof of the Witness Protection, Security, an Benefit Program (DOJ), discussed the Salient Features of the Anti-Violence Against Women & their Children, Act of 2004 (RA 262).

The affair was graced by the presence of Acting Vice Governor Agnes Magpale, Chair, Committee on Women & Children. Ms. Magpale delivered the Keynote Address.

The afternoon session started with the Lecture on the Salient Features of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons Act of 2003 (RA 9208), by Atty. Cheryl Cabutihan, Legal Counsel, Children’s Legal Bureau. This was followed by PB Joyboy Holanza, ABC Federation President, Cebu.

The Seminar wound up at 4:00 o’clock in the afternoon.
