Organization of Sponsors for Flag Ceremony by Department
Effective August 2011, several LGU offices organized Teams for a smooth conduct of the Flag Ceremony every Monday, and the Flag Retreat on Fridays. Attendance of all personnel is enjoined. In addition a few minutes after the Flag Ceremony is devoted to Values Hour, with Pastor Joel Polotan, conducting.
Installation of NSO PHILCRIS Software
Developed by the National Statistics Office, the Philippine Civil Registry Information System (CRIS-DOS Version), aims to deliver registry information management in a new, more user friendly and efficient means.
The PHILCRIS enables encoding of relevant information from civil registry documents, storage of vital data, query and retrieval of encoded records, printing and issuance of certified copies of encoded civil registry documents, generation of transmittal files, data management, and maintenance of the local civil registry database.
Installation of the software is an invaluable development which benefits to a great extent, not only the residents in the municipality of Tuburan, but those in the neighboring towns as well.
In line with this, LGU Tuburan has established the BREQS–LGU System, which intends to facilitate requests and follow-up of birth records, marriage certificates, and related records especially those coming from other localities.
Engr. Mario F. Potencioso Municipal Civil Registrar, was designated as LGU BREQS Manager.
Official Turn Over of a Rebel Returnee
Dennis de la Cerna Basera, a resident from Mati, Davao del Norte, joined the leftestl group in 2006 when he was yet 16 years old. He has relatives in Marmol, Tuburan, Cebu.
After five years of being on the other side of the fence, he decided to return to the fold of law on April 18, 2011. However, the formal Turn Over Ceremony was conducted just last August 23, 2011 at the LGU Mun. Hall. He was presented by Lt Col Nolasco A. Mempin, Commander, 78th IB, 8ID PA, and turned him over to Mayor Democrito M. Diamante during the ceremony.
In his speech, Basera pointed out that the main factors which impelled him to surrender were as follows:
- Death of his uncle who was a member of the Philippine Army during an encounter with his group
- Concern for his safety and future
- Pressure from relatives in Marmol, one of whom is a Brgy. Tanod
- Faith in the present Administration.
Installation of the GSIS KIOSK
In an effort to provide assistance to retirees, a GSIS Kiosk has been installed in front of the DILG Office. Retirees from government service need not travel to Cebu City since transactions are available through the GSIS Kiosk.

Cebu Mitsumi, Inc. Conducted Recruitment
Cebu Mitsumi Incorporated conducted a recruitment on Production Assemblers in the Municipality of Tuburan on August 20, 2011. The activity consisted of a written examination of applicants whereby those who passed the examination were the only ones who were interviewed.
Of the 62 applicants, 41 passed the examination and interview. However, the application of 19 applicants who qualified were held due to age constraint and pending medical examination and physical evaluation.
