SUSPENSION OF FACE-TO-FACE CLASSES

Municipality of Tuburan, Cebu

Due to the anticipated effects of the incoming Tropical Depression Wilma and in prioritization of the safety of all learners, teachers, and school personnel, the Municipality of Tuburan through the leadership of Mayor Christian Daniel B. Diamante hereby suspends all face-to-face classes in all levels, both public and private schools, on December 5, 2025.

School administrators are advised to activate modular or remote learning modalities when feasible. All residents are urged to remain alert, monitor official weather bulletins, and take necessary safety precautions.

Further announcements will be issued as needed.

Tuburan LGU Recognized for Excellence in Digital Governance

The Municipality of Tuburan, under the dynamic leadership of Mayor Christian Daniel B. Diamante and Vice Mayor Danilo Diamante, together with the Sangguniang Bayan Members and dedicated LGU employees, proudly received a Plaque of Recognition for Excellence in Digital Governance.

This prestigious honor was bestowed for Tuburan’s outstanding dedication to digital transformation and public service, as demonstrated through its active and effective utilization of the eLGU System of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

The award was presented during the EGOV-eLGU Summit held on October 28, 2025, at The Mezzo Hotel, Cebu City, followed by the EGOVPH App and eLGU Roadshow on October 29, 2025, where LGUs across the region shared their best practices and innovations in digital governance.

Mayor Christian Daniel B. Diamante emphasized that this recognition is not only a milestone of progress but also a continuation of Tuburan’s unwavering commitment to good governance and innovation—a legacy initiated by his father, former Mayor Democrito “Aljun” M. Diamante, whose vision for a modern, transparent, and people-centered government continues to guide the municipality today.

Vice Mayor Danilo Diamante likewise commended the teamwork, discipline, and dedication of all LGU employees, whose shared efforts made this achievement possible.

This recognition stands as a testament to Tuburan’s consistent pursuit of excellence, transparency, and innovation—a reflection of leadership that values progress, continuity, and service to the people.

The continuation of operations during typhoons or any weather disturbances is at the discretion of the private sector and industries. While the local government provides timely advisories and ensures overall public safety, it remains the responsibility of each business to assess the conditions and determine whether to proceed with or suspend work activities in the interest of safety and operational readiness.

Strengthening Mental Health in Tuburan

On September 18, 2025, the Municipality of Tuburan and Americares Philippines officially sealed their partnership through the Signing of the Memorandum of Agreement on the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) Program. Present during the activity were Hon. Christian Daniel B. Diamante, Municipal Mayor, and Hon. Louise Potencioso, SB Committee on Health, together with Dr. Carmina Jemma Faunillan, Municipal Health Officer, Dr. Chelsea Calano, Doctor to the Barrio, and the dedicated RHU staff. Representing Americares Philippines were Mr. Paul Gwyn L. Pagaran, Country Director, Ms. Julie Ann Samson, MHPSS Project Coordinator, and the Americares team.

This meaningful collaboration aims to empower and uplift the mental health and psychosocial well-being of the people of Tuburan through shared commitment, resources, and compassion. The event also featured the presentation of the Mental Health Situation in Tuburan, project orientation by Americares, the ceremonial MOA signing, a message of acceptance from Mayor Diamante, the handover of IEC materials, and a pledge of commitment to support mental health initiatives.

Together, let us continue to build a healthier, more resilient, and more compassionate Tuburan.

Due to the potential effects of Severe Tropical Storm “OPONG” in our province and to prioritize the safety of students and school personnel, all Elementary & Secondary classes in both public and private schools across the municipality of Tuburan will be suspended tomorrow, Thursday, September 25, 2025.

Last September 19, 2025 LGU Tuburan has been recognized as one of the top 5 Best Partner LGU for the Implementation of the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). Out of the 22 entries nationwide, LGU Tuburan emerged as one of the Top 5 champions for the Best Partner LGU Category.

The plague of recognition was received by Former Mayor Democrito “Aljun” Diamante during the Gawad Sulong Awarding held at the Iloilo Grand Hotel in Iloilo City. The municipality stood out for its active support in strengthening local SLP Associations, fostering linkages with markets and partner agencies, and expanding livelihood networks.

This recognition is not just a milestone, but a testament to the hard work, perseverance and unity of the communities we serve. Behind this success are the dedicated beneficiaries who continue to inspire us with their resilience, our committed partners and stakeholders who believe in inclusive growth, and our team who tirelessly work to create meaningful change.

Niadtong miaging Martes, ang atong Municipal Team mibisita sa Barangay Montealegre, Tuburan, Cebu alang sa usa ka Outreach Program nga gitumong aron ipaabot direkta ang mga serbisyo sa gobyerno ngadto mismo sa katawhan.

Dako kaayo ang among kalipay nga nakig-uban ug nakigtapok ang atong mga kaigsuonan sa Brgy. Montealegre aron ato silang mahatagan ug nagkalain-laing tabang ug serbisyo. Gawas sa paghatod og serbisyo, kini nga kalihokan nagpalig-on usab sa atong panaghiusa, pagtinabangay, ug pagkahimakas alang sa usa ka mas himsog ug malambuong komunidad.

Ang maong kalihokan usa ka timaan nga ang atong lokal nga panggamhanan nga pinanguluhan ni Hon. Christian Daniel Diamante andam kanunay nga musulod sa matag barangay aron madungog ang tingog sa katawhan ug matubag ang ilang mga panginahanglan. Kini usa ka paningkamot aron padayon natong mapalapdan ang serbisyong tinud-anay nga mao’y timaan sa Tuburan.

Another blessed Tuesday for the residents of Barangay Antipolo, Tuburan, Cebu, as the LGU Tuburan Season 14 Outreach Program team, led by Mayor Christian Daniel “CD” Diamante, brought essential services closer to the community yesterday August 19, 2025. Nearly 300 residents benefited from the program.

Alongside Mayor CD Diamante, various departments from LGU Tuburan offered a range of services to the public, including free medical consultations and medicines, free deworming for livestock, and free anti-rabies vaccines from the Municipal Agriculture Office. Free haircuts and hair make-up were also provided, among other services. A highlight of the outreach program was the provision of free food, such as arroz-caldo, bread, and ice cream, throughout the day. During lunchtime, a free lunch was served to all constituents by the Municipal Officials.

Uniformed personnel also supported the initiative to ensure public satisfaction with the government’s service.

This program has been serving the people of Tuburan since 2011, under the leadership of former Mayor Aljun Diamante, and continues to be a source of satisfaction for the community.

Last Tuesday, August 12, 2025 the Local Government Unit of Tuburan once again brought its services straight to the people this time in Brgy. Apalan, Tuburan, Cebu.

Through this outreach activity, various departments worked hand in hand to provide easier access to programs and assistance, saving our residents the time, cost, and effort of going to different offices in the municipal hall.

From health services, social assistance, agricultural support, and more, we made sure our people in Apalan received the help and attention they deserve.

This is part of our continuous effort to ensure that every Tuburanon, wherever they may be, feels the presence of their LGU because public service should always be accessible, inclusive, and heartfelt.

Napuno sa kadasig ug paglaum ang unang Martes sa Season 14 LGU Tuburan Outreach Program ubos sa pangagamhanan ni Tuburan Mayor Christian Daniel “CD” Diamante nga gipahigayon sa Barangay Alegria Tuburan, Cebu.

Kini agig pagpadayon ug pagpalapad sa maong programa nga gisugdan sukad pa niadtong tuig 2011 ilawom sa Liderato ni Former Tuburan Mayor Aljun Diamante. Sama sa gihapon anaa ang mga nag-unang serbisyo sa munisipyo nga gidala na mismo sa ganghaan sa nahisgutang Barangay.

Atol sa maong kalihokan namahayag ang batan-ong Mayor nga si Engr. CD Diamante nga daku ang iyang pagpasalamat sa walay puas nga pagsuporta sa katawhang Tuburanon sa maong programa sukad pa sa Administrasyon sa iyang amahan. Iyang gidugang nga ubos sa iyang liderato karun, iyang paningkamotan nga mas mapalapdan pa ang mga serbisyo nga gidala niini aron sa pag-hatag ug igong katagbawan sa iyang mga konstituwente.

Samtang si Former Mayor Aljun Diamante kinsa mao na usab karun ang consultant sa opisina ni Mayor CD Diamante, nagkanayon nga mas taas ug kahigayonan karun nga mapalapdan sa iyang anak ang iyang nasugdan nga mga kalamboan sa Tuburan gumikan adunay igong panahon si Mayor CD nga makatutok sa pag-serbisyo sa katawhan.

Sa habig sa mga ahensya nga nisuporta sa maong kalihokan diha ang mga sakop sa BJMP Tuburan District Jail nga gipangulohan ni SJO4 Dindo Sines ug ang Coast Guard Substation Tuburan nga gipangulohan ni PO1 Jonathan Apas.

Samtang si Barangay Alegria Kapitan Jeffrey Balen sa iyang mensahe niingon nga daku kaayo ang iyang kalipay sa maong outreach program nga napahigayon sa iyang Barangay gumikan sigun niya dili lang kini basta programa lang kung di usa kini ka dakung opurtonidad sa pagpakita ug gugma, paglaum ug pagtinabangay nga nagdala ug maayong epekto sa kinabuhi sa iyang mga gingsakopan.
