Launching of the LGU NBI SATELLITE Office
Another feather to the cap of the present Administration was the opening of the NBI Satellite Office in the municipality of Tuburon. This is a welcome development, not only to the people in the locality but to many others from the neighboring towns and even cities in the province of Cebu, who shall be benefited by this very indispensable facility.
Mayor Aljun led the Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. Director Reynaldo Esmeralda gave his message, lauding the Mayor for this extraordinary feat.

ELECTRIFICATION IN KABANGKALAN
Much to the gratitude of the residents, the much awaited electrification of Brgy. Kabangkalan became a reality on September 13, 2011. The electrification covered a radius of four kilometers. Mayor Diamante, together with some LGU personnel, and Brgy. Officials personally graced the affair.
International Coastal Clean-up Day
In compliance with Presidential Proclamation No. 470, s. 2003, which declared every third Sunday of September as International Coastal Clean-Up Day, LGU Tuburan conducted Coastal Clean-up on September 17, 2011 in the ten identified coastal barangays, namely; Putat, Bagasawe, Apalan, Daan Lungsod,Brgy. 1, Brgy. 6, Brgy. 8, Mangga, Carmelo, Molobolo, Antipolo, and Sto. Nino. Garbage gathered was collected by LGU dump trucks and garbage trucks and deposited in the dump site in Brgy. Cogon.
This activity aimed for a Trash- Free Seas.
DISASTER RISK REDUCTION & MANAGEMENT ACTIVITY
The activity was conducted at Carmelo Elementary School. The activity was undertaken to provide relevant information to the residents relative to natural disasters such as earthquake, typhoons, floods, and even fire.
Initiated by Mr. Miguel G. Ortega, Civil Defense Deputized Coordinator, the activity was made possible through the combined efforts of Dr. Crisanto E. Gallarde, Assist. Civil Defense Deputized Coordinator; the SB Members, led by Hon. Danilo M. Diamante; DILG, led by Ms. Cecile Belcina; BFD, headed by SPO4 Elmer Pavo, Tuburan Fire Marshal; Dr. Steve Ligaray, Chief, Tuburan District Hospital; and the Barangay Officials of Carmelo.
ELECTRIFICATION OF SITIO CALUMBANGAN, PUTAT
A very meaningful event for the residents in Sitio Calumbangan, Counselor Danilo M. Diamante graced the activity, supported by Brgy. Captain Emily Olivo and the barangay officials.
RHU Blood Letting CAMPAIGN in coordination w/ LGU Tuburan
In compliance with R.A. No. 7719, an act promoting voluntary blood donation, also otherwise known as the “National Blood Service Act of 1994,” RHU Tuburan spearheaded a Blood Letting program. Conducted at the Tuburan Covered Court, the Activity was led by Dra. Lizette T. Jamora – Antig, OIC MHO RHU I. Out of 105 volunteers, 62 qualified as donors.
Tree Planting Activity – Kalangahan
In cooperation with PAGCOR Riders Philippines, LGU Tuburan conducted a Tree Planting Activity at Brgy. Kalangahan on Sept. 24, 2011. This was participated in by 258 LGU Tuburan and PAGCOR Employees, who were able to plant 1,600 seedlings, which were supplied by the DENR.
Opening of LGU Mobile PhilHealth Satellite Office
This important event took place in front of the proposed PhilHealth Office. Located just adjacent to the recently inaugurated NBI Office at 10:30 in the morning. Mayor Democrito M. Diamante, delivered his Message. This was followed by the Message of Ms. Donatila B. Abelo, Social Insurance Officer. Rev. Fr. Jun Rama, Assist. Parish Priest, officiated the Blessing of the Office, with Mayor Diamante and Ms. Abelo cutting the ribbon.
The facility is designed to provide access to PhilHealth services to residents in Tuburan as well as those in the neighboring municipalities.
